Letter From The Blogitor

A Letter From The Editor always attempts to set the tone for each publication’s particular issue. As the recently anointed Blogitor of in.media, I feel that our first post should be no different.

It is with honor that I write this post to help set the tone for what we feel will provide a simple yet compelling proposition – represent those inside digital media. Our core mission will be to maintain a community inside digital media (in ‘dot’ media) that will work to keep you informed of the most important news stories of our business, discuss issues and opportunities facing our industry and provide those who are working in the trenches a platform to voice their own opinions.

We work in a fast-paced and competitive environment. It is our goal to deliver content to you that is timely, relevant, or maybe even sometimes controversial while often maintaining a level of light-hearted humor. We offer this social community as a resting place for those who spend most of their waking hours working to ensure that all content and information online remains free through the support of advertising.

As we enter this new decade, it is our hope that in.media becomes one of the most trusted and informative resources inside digital media. To do so, we will engage with our communities strongest thought leaders while communicating directly with those working on the frontlines. We’ll tackle controversial topics like attribution models and ad network transparency. Conduct interviews with those putting together media plans and the ones actually writing the algorithms. Enlist a debate of Content vs. Relevancy to anoint a king of digital media and investigate what the driving forces are behind Ashton Kutcher becoming the self-proclaimed king of social media.

It is altogether fitting that as a community, we champion the aggregation of innovative on goings and ideas across digital media. It is our responsibility as members of this community to help other constituent members learn and advance the best interests, standards and ideals of our industry.

As veteran online advertising executives and current recruiters for digital media, we are uniquely positioned to help guide this effort. We have spent the past decade gaining a diverse set of experience in digital media and now spend our days talking at length with members all across the industry. We’ll now spend our free time maintaining this trusted and informative community.

Welcome to in.media. Enjoy your stay.
